一些中文成语和习语，我的英文版有时异于汉英词典提供的“标准”译法，因为我要照顾同传的需要：

（1）简短；（2）一听就懂；（3）尽量直译，以免掉坑里（发言者可能会借原文里的具体意象加以发挥）

例

“留得青山在不愁没柴烧”，我译作：

Keep the mountain green and you’ll never run out of firewood.

“穷则独善其身，达则兼善天下”，我译作：

Use your struggle to make yourself a better person; use your success to make the world a better place.
