I’m no Luddite. Just look at the devices I own and use and the apps installed on them. I may be making a mountain out of a molehill, but I do have something to say about this and I must get it off my chest. Let’s check out the story first:

Barely over a year since ChatGPT made its debut, we are already sinking in the quicksand of cerebral oblivion, and that fast!
Forget about scholarly honour or academic integrity, which is by default at odds with the unspoken credo of now-prevalent arrivisme: the much fatter lamb slaughtered on the altar of tech-enabled expediency is INTELLECTUAL DISCIPLINE.
REASON and INTELLECT are either the exclusive faculties God in His infinite wisdom invested in His (putatively) favourite artifacts or the fruits of evolution spanning millions of years, depending on whether you are a creationist or an evolutionist. (I’m a theistic-evolutionist with ‘theistic’ used in its de-personified sense, in case you were wondering.)
Looking around the world we live in, we cannot but notice REASON has been shot to pieces. Now it’s INTELLECT’s turn to be damned.
The ramifications are deeply troubling and the implications, far-reaching.
